IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE 23.04.2021 : We are re-opening on Monday Bank Holiday 3rd May, 10am-6pm. Our opening hours for the first two weeks in May are on our Covid-19 page and in our footer. We will then hopefully have an idea what we can and can't do from the 17th and have a more regular time. Booking slots available to be booked from Monday 26th April via email and social media is best.

Here are just some of the things that you can expect when visiting the Boathouse Climbing Centre, helping you to stay safe and healthy whilst climbing with us. Full Covid-19 compliant details are available here.

  • Auto Hand Sanitisers in 3 key areas filled with @penderyn alcohol based sanitiser. You will be encouraged to regularly use these throughout your visit.
  • Safety advice signage throughout the building.
  • Specialist portable screens to protect customer and staff.
  • Separate bouldering zones have been created to help with social distancing, as well as extra bouldering routes set within the Tower and Junction Wall areas.
  • 2 Auto Belays have been installed in the Tower.
  • Due to a restrictive capacity we are actively encouraging people to pre-book their visit with us to avoid potential disappointment. More details to follow on how to do this.

What To Expect

Interior Toward Entrance

The Boathouse Climbing Centre has approximately 200 square meters of climbing surface with a bouldering wall 4.5 meters high. Our climbing tower is 8 meters high with a series of lead climbs, top rope, and now includes 2 Auto Belay's. Route grades are accommodating to beginners and we also have ones that will challenge the most experienced climbers.

Aged between 4 - 18 years old? Our programme for young climbers is from beginners through to advanced levels. Each climber follows a programme of learning and development with regular feedback given.
